We would like to thank all of our customers who donated towards our ASOBAGRI landslide relief fundraiser.
On September 21, heavy predawn rains caused a mudslide at the ASOBAGRI coffee co-op, killing fifteen people and burying four homes as well as some of the co-op’s most important processing facilities. On November 8, JJ Bean teamed up with Ethical Bean, as well as several independent local cafés and grocery stores, to raise money for ASOBAGRI.
Thanks to proceeds from JJ Bean and Ethical Bean coffee sales, as well as the contribution of staff tips, we raised over $6,500 during our ASOBAGRI fundraiser last month.
ASOBAGRI Continues to Need Your Help
Last month’s fundraiser was a tremendous help, but more money is still needed to rebuild the co-op, and the livelihood of around 1,200 farmers is still at stake.
