Fresh baking and meals are essential to the JJ Bean experience. Even the best coffees are enhanced when paired with the right food, but because we love coffee so much we sometimes forget to mention that we make all of our food. Every day the commissary bakeries (JJ Big Bend in Vancouver, and JJ Bartley in Toronto) prepare our sandwiches, wraps, and treats. And everything we bake — including our notoriously good muffins, classic croissants, and mouth-watering cookies — is baked fresh each morning at all our JJ Bean locations.

Our Gluten Free Friendly Muffins Process
Each recipe begins with a buttermilk and gluten-free flour blend base—and finishes with a crumble topping. Though they’re all delicious, only one flavour is available per day. Although these muffins are prepared in a facility that also uses wheat flour, we thoroughly sanitize every surface beforehand. Every gluten free batch is baked in a strict no-wheat-allowed muffin tray. Each muffin is also individually wrapped in extra long tulip liner to prevent cross-contamination.
Our Vancouver Suppliers
In Vancouver, the meat we use for our sandwiches and wraps comes from Two Rivers Specialty Meats, which sources meat free of antibiotics, hormones, and chemical feed additives from local farms throughout the Lower Mainland. The flours we use in our breads and baked goods comes from Rogers Flour and a custom grain blend from Anita’s Organic Mill. Our dairy products are from Avalon Dairy, including Traceable Milk for all our milk-based beverages. We partnered with Glory Juice for our organic fresh pressed juices and Frankly Fresh Salads Inc. for our fruit cups.
