Dollarton news & Grand Opening details

JJ Bean's newest North Shore location opened its doors Monday June 7th 2021. Located at 391 North Dollarton Highway on the way to Deep Cove. Dollarton will be open every day, weekdays from 6am-6pm and weekends & holidays from 7am-6pm.  We are so happy to finally share the good news with you. Our Grand Opening celebrations will come a little later in the month, more details about that below.

"This opening is very special to me on a number of fronts.

Since Covid (March 2020 – as if I need to tell you) we have not opened any new stores. In fact, we closed down our entire Toronto operation last April which was 5 stores. Like most of the hospitality industry, we were dramatically affected by Covid, so we feel very blessed that we were able to open this store.

This will be our third location on the North Shore but our first in the District of North Van. This is very special to me, in that the Neate clan (my grandparents - Frank and Ella, my parents - John and Margie) lived in the District of North Van since the 1920s and weirdly, this is our first store in the district. All of my family (4 kids, 10 grandkids), many of my greatest critics (my friends), and 2 of our key Senior Leadership Team (Jesse Neate, Grady Buhler) live on the North Shore. Neto Franco (Encore Projects) has built every JJ Bean location since 2007 and he also lives on the North Shore. So, you can see we want this store to be stellar for a lot of reasons.

Additionally, this store is very special because my daughter, Niki Schulz, is the one who designed it. You will see that there was no nepotism here, she is extremely gifted and accomplished in her company, Nicole Maree Design. Our Dollarton store is beautiful.
