Aurelio Villatoro, the son of Eleodoro Villatoro who established the renowned Finca La Esperanza in the late 1950s in the highlands of Hoja Blanca, Huehuetenango, began his own farm, Villaure, in 1986, adjacent to his father's. He has since passed on his passion for coffee to the next generation; today, his son Jenner manages much of the day-to-day operations, while his younger son Rodin oversees alternative processing and unique lots. Their cousin Denis runs the QC lab located in Huehuetenango. This collaborative effort has resulted in coffees of remarkable clarity and structure, earning multiple awards in the last three Cup of Excellence auctions.
Since 2002, the family has garnered numerous national and international accolades.
