Muchagara washing station is part of Baragwi Farmers' Co-operative Society Ltd. (FCS), and is the oldest station of its kind in Kenya. Baragwi FCS operates 12 washing stations with a membership of over 15,000 smallholder farmers. This coffee is grown in the region's rich, red volcanic soil. The cherries are fully washed, graded, and dried in the sun on raised beds. The resulting coffee is distinct, with bright and sweet flavours reminiscent of strawberry rhubarb pie.
